CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

As a school, we strive for every pupil to achieve their very best in terms of academic achievement, but also firmly believe that education should develop children’s character and wellbeing, inspire a love of learning and culture, create a curiosity about the world and people around them and prepare them for life.

For these reasons, we encourage all our pupils, from Nursery to Year 11, to participate in our character development programme, the “Wellesley Award”, attend school pupil voice groups and take part in competitions and accreditations.

THE WELLESLEY AWARD

Through participation in a wide range of enrichment opportunities, we aspire to develop fulfilled, well-rounded, happy children who are resilient, motivated and thoughtful young people with bright and exciting futures.

PERSONAL CHARACTER BUILDING

Develop a set of attitudes, skills and behaviours such as self-control, self-belief, confidence, determination, ambition, resourcefulness, tolerance, adaptability, connectivity, empathy and resilience.
