Colchester Prep & High School celebrates outstanding ISI Inspection Result, and is proud to announce that the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has awarded the School with full compliance across all regulatory standards.
Commendations coupled with a complete set of ‘MET’ standards, underscores the School’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education, pastoral care, and whole-child development. The outcome represents the highest possible result under the current ISI framework.

We are proud to announce that we have been ranked 9th in The Times Parent Power Guide for 2026, rising 11 places from last year.
The highly esteemed guide is compiled based on examination results and is published annually.
We could not be prouder to have been placed so highly in the ‘Top independent secondary schools with no sixth forms’ category.
In our 2025 GCSE results, 48.7% of grades were 7-9; the highest levels of academic achievement available (National Average 21.8%). Our recent Attainment 8 score of 60.9 places us as the top-performing non-selective co-educational school in North East Essex.

Ms Gracie-Langrick has over 25 years experience in Independent co-education and is passionate about developing the qualities in our young people that will help them to reach their full potential and improve the world around them.
Under her leadership and guidance, the school has achieved a double excellent in the ISI Inspection; retained its status as a Microsoft Showcase School for over 5 years; attained the prestigious Eco Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction in 2025; and most recently gained the ISA Award for Excellence and Innovation in Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Congratulations to Axel, Austin and Michael, who have been awarded commendations in the prestigious Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators, organised by The Queen`s College, University of Oxford.
This year`s national competition attracted more than 25,000 students, with over 5,400 translations judged. Organisers praised the exceptionally high standard of entries, making the selection of winners and commendations more challenging than ever.
We are especially proud that this is the sixth consecutive year our pupils have received recognition in this prestigious competition; an outstanding achievement reflecting the talent, dedication and hard work of our students and the support of our Language Department.

As part of our Science Week activities this year, pupils in Years 3 to 5 took part in the Primary Engineers competition, “If You Were an Engineer, What Would You Do?” 🔧✨
After attending an online session with an engineer and learning about different engineering careers, pupils were challenged to identify a real-world problem and design an invention to solve it. They brought their ideas to life through creative drawings and persuasive letters explaining their inventions.
All entries were judged by engineers, and we were delighted to present certificates to celebrate the pupils’ hard work, creativity and innovation.
A huge congratulations to Lexie for winning the Year 4 category 🏆 and to Matthew, whose Year 5 entry received a Highly Commended award 👏 We are so proud of all of our young engineers!

🏕️ What an incredible week at Rockley! Our Year 5 & 6 pupils arrived at Buddens on Monday and hit the ground running; building rafts, conquering the climbing wall and putting their problem-solving skills to the test with Taskmaster challenges. The adventure only got bigger from there!
☀️ Midweek highlights included the hugely popular Mega SUP, with pupils splashing, sliding, and cooling off in the lake with plenty of laughter along the way. With regular water breaks and shade keeping everyone energised, they made the most of every single activity on offer. In the evenings, the fun continued, from team activities to watching the England match together before a well-earned night`s sleep. ⚽
By Friday, our pupils had truly risen to every challenge; overcoming fears, conquering Jacob`s Ladder, and finishing the week with a game of football rounders as the evening cooled. We couldn`t be prouder of each and every one of them!
We hope they`re enjoying a well-deserved rest after such a brilliant, action-packed week. Until next time, Rockley!
