We Have a National Archives Art Competition Winner

Congratulations to Ella in Year 4, winner of the Key Stage 2 category for the National Archives Art Competition Capturing our Collections for her 3D model of a VE Celebration Tea Party. The model had been created for the Lower School History and Art Competition in the Autumn Term . The judges commented

” Ella has created a colourful space where we can celebrate liberty, equality and belonging with her. A space where people come together to eat cake and feel free. I like the way it feels like a model for a theatre design. The simple abstracted figures contrast cleverly with the collaged photos of jelly, cake and sandwiches. The viewer can tell that Ella knows how to throw a great party. “

Ms Gracie-Langrick said “Many congratulations on this fantastic achievement – to be the KS2 winner in the National Archives competition is something that Ella, and indeed the school, should rightly be very proud of”.
