As a school we strive for every pupil to achieve their very best in terms of academic achievement, but we also firmly believe that education should develop children’s character and wellbeing, inspire a love of learning and culture, create a curiosity about the world and people around them preparing them for life. It is for these reasons that we encourage all our pupils, from Nursery to Year 11, to participate in our character development programme, the “Wellesley Award”.
The “Wellesley Award” encourages our pupils to focus on personal character development but to also cultivate a sense of citizenship, embrace the creative arts and focus on both their mental and physical wellbeing. Through participation in a wide range of enrichment opportunities, we aspire to not only develop fulfilled, well-rounded, happy children but also to develop resilient, motivated and thoughtful young people who have bright and exciting futures.
A certificate is awarded to each pupil participating in the scheme at the School’s annual prize giving ceremonies but more importantly we hope to create well-rounded individuals who can articulate what they have to offer to the world.
