140 YEARS

On Thursday 22 September, pupils and staff at Colchester Prep & High School came together to celebrate 140 years of providing an excellent education. Pupils and staff alike enjoyed birthday cake and House competitions throughout the afternoon and celebrations continued into the early evening, when former pupils and parent Alumni Ambassadors joined the celebrations for an Anniversary Tea. It was a fantastic opportunity for our school community – past and present, to reconnect and to share their memories of life at school.

Colchester Prep & High School was founded in 1882 as a ‘most desirable establishment for young ladies.’ Throughout its 140 years, our Independent Co-educational provision for pupils aged 2 to 16, continues to be committed to providing an excellent education that prepares pupils to be the changemakers of tomorrow’s world – nurturing within them a sense of social responsibility, global citizenship and a respect for the environment.
