Celebrating 135 Years of Excellent Education at Colchester High School

On Tuesday 10th July, the pupils and staff at Colchester High School celebrated not only the end of the year but the School’s 135th Birthday!

The day began with an overview for each of the children of the history of the school. At lunchtime, all the all the pupils joined together for a whole school assembly. The sun shone for us but sadly the RAF fly over was hidden from view.  But everyone still had a wonderful time and raised their voices for a moving rendition of Happy Birthday.

The day ended with a delicious tea party and art exhibition. There was some inspiring art on display from pupils throughout the school and also a fabulous mural that had been created by the children. The mural design was influenced by our School Song, the School history and the four School Houses.

Thank you also to all the children that entered the 135th Birthday Cake Competition. The cakes all looked absolutely delicious and beautifully reflected what the School means to you. The results will be announced on Thursday.

Happy Birthday Colchester High School!
