Senior School Scholarships

Colchester High School Senior School Scholarship Information for entry into Year 7 & Year 9

Tear 7 Entry

Scholarships are currently available for students entering the  Senior School in Year 7.  All pupils must be registered with the school before they can apply for any scholarships. (A Registration Form can be obtained from the Admissions Office or downloaded from the main Admissions page).

A Year 7 scholarship is worth up to a maximum of 30% reduction on full school fees during the whole of a pupils education in the senior school. All scholarships are subject to certain Terms and Conditions.  In some cases in the senior school this relates to undertaking that subject at GCSE level. 

Scholarships available for Students entering Year 7 in 2010 are:

• Sport
• Music
• Art
• Science
• Performing Arts 
• Academic

Applications for Scholarships include either a CV of acheivements or a portfolio of work to accopmany a written application by the candidate. 

The Academic Scholarship candidates are selected from those who sit the entrance assessments in January. They will then be invited to sit a further scholarship exam.   

All Registered pupils are sent full scholarship details in the Autumn Term preceeding their entry.

Year 9 Entry

GCSE Scholarships will be available for entry into Year 9 in September 2010. Pupils can apply for a scholarship in one of the following areas:

• English
• Maths
• Science
• Music
• Languages: French or German
• Humanties: History or Geography

All Applicants will be required to sit an exam or assessment in their chosen subject with the exception of Music where there will be an additional practical element. GCSE Scholarships awarded will be valued at up to a 20% reduction on school fees.
