Scholarships & Bursaries FAQs

 

What Scholarships are available?

     a. We currently offer scholarships in General Academia, Science, Sport, Art, Music and new for 2010 - Performing Arts.

 

When can my son/daughter apply for a scholarship?

    a. Scholarships are generally available to pupils entering the school into years 3,4,5,6 & 7. However it is possible for some scholarships to be awarded once a pupil has already started at the school if they get a recommendation from the Head of Department.

 

Are Scholarships available to pupils entering the Junior School?

    a. Yes. We are just about to introduce the opportunity for pupils to apply for scholarships in General Academia and the Creative Arts in the Junior School. More information about these scholarships will be available in the forthcoming weeks.

What do we have to do to apply for a scholarship?

    a. For entry into Year 7 - Your son/daughter needs to be registered with the school by the beginning of the preceeding Autumn term for the next academic year 7 entry to apply. (i.e Ideally by the end of September 2009 for entry in September 2010).  Once registered we will contact you with all relevant information. (Registration forms are available to download from the main Admissions page) For entry into the Lower School, information regarding the scholarships available will be sent out to parents as part of the Admissions process.

 

How do we find out if we are eligible for a bursary?

   a. A bursary enquiry form is available on the website. If you fill this in, we will send you a bursary application pack. Once you have filled in and returned the pack to the school, you will be considered for a bursary dependant on your financial status.

 

How long do scholarships and bursaries last?

   a. A year 7 scholarship covers the years the pupils is enrolled with us until they finish their education here. Lower school schoalrships cover their time inthe lower part of the school only. Bursaries are for one academic year but can be re-applied for annually.
