Scholarships and Bursaries

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding individual achievement and potential in a specific area.

At Colchester High School, it is possible to be awarded a Junior or Senior Scholarship.  The Junior Scholarship lasts from the start of Year 3 to the end of Year 6.  The Senior Scholarship starts in Year 7 and finishes at the end of Year 11.

A successful pupil may only hold ONE scholarship award

Junior Scholarships are awarded for Academic or Creative Arts achievements.  Scholarships assessments are made in the November of Year 3.

Senior Scholarships are awarded for Academic, Sporting or Performing Arts success.  Scholarship assessments are made in the Spring term of Year 6.  Prospective and future pupils for Year 7 are also considered at this time.

New individual pupils admitted to the school in different Year groups may also apply to be considered for a Scholarship.
