Mathematics

The Senior Maths Department prides itself in the effective and professional delivery of the mathematics curriculum to its Pupils.

Factors such as small teaching sets, a rigorous yet pupil friendly Scheme of Work and a committed teaching staff have contributed to the Departments success. 

On average in the past 5 Years, approximately 90% of all senior pupils have achieved A*-C in their GCSE .This pass rate far exceeds the National pass rates in the subject. In addition to this, about 50% of Senior Pupils have for the past 2 Years, sat Statistics GCSE in their Year 10 followed by GCSE Maths in their Year 11.

This provides many our pupils with a sound understanding  of the fundamental principles underpinning the subject , which in turn  has promoted the confidence in a significant number of our students, to  continue their studies in mathematics once they have left our school ,whether it be at AS or A level, IB or at Degree level.
