Colchester High School Junior School Scholarship Information Pack 2010
Colchester High School invites students entering the Junior School (years 3, 4, 5 & 6) to apply for a Creative Arts and/or Academic cholarship. Applicants for Scholarships are required to meet the minimum academic criteria of Colchester High School in the first instance.
Creative Arts Scholarships
candidates are required to provide supporting evidence along with their application.
Recipients are selected by evidence presented showing excellence, enthusiasm and commitment.
Examples of information to include in your portfolio dependant on your area of creative art are:
- Music, dance or singing examination certificates
- Music, concert or dance show programmes
- Examples of artwork compiled over the last year
- Any supporting evidence of artwork that has been displayed or entered into any competitions
- Articles or newspaper cuttings
- Creative writing journal or examples of creative writing pieces
- Any published short stories, poems etc.
Please note any creative writing pieces must be in the candidates own handwriting.
Academic Scholarships
Once an application form has been submitted. Candidates will be required to sit two short test in Maths and English, relevant to their age and will need supporting statements from their current teacher/headteacher that they have the necessary aptitude for academic study.
APPLICATION FORMS ARE SENT OUT WHEN REGISTRATION OF THE PUPIL IS COMPLETE.
