How many pupils do you have at Colchester High School?
- We have approx. 480 pupils in the school at present, ranging in age from 2 ½ - 16 years old.
Will my child be taught for the 11+ examinations?
- Many of our pupils enter the 11+ exams and we have specialist after school tuition at the 11+ club for pupils who want extra help.
What are the school hours?
- The gates open at 8.20am and registration is at 8.40am. The Reception Classes finish at 3pm, Years 1 & 2 at 3.10pm and the rest of the school at 3.30pm.
Do you take Boarders?
a. No. We are a co-educational Day school
Do you offer financial aid?
- Yes. A bursary application form can be downloaded from the website.
Is there a discount for multiple children from the same family?
- Yes. There are sibling discounts available for second and subsequent children.
Do you accept nursery grants and government child place grants?
- Yes. We also take payments via Accor, Busy Bees and Kidsunlimited against Nursery fees
How do we pay the fees?
- Fees are invoiced and are due on the first day of each term. However they can be paid, monthly, termly and annually.
Is there provision for pupls before and after school?
a. Yes we have specialist wraparound care for the Nursery children before and after the Nursery day. Also for the main school, we have Breakfast Club and after school care as well as numerous other after school clubs and activities, including homework club and film club every day of the week.
What happens about lunches in the school?
a. The majority of the school have packed lunches. However, in Prep. i.e. Reception, Years 1 & 2, they have cooked lunches included in their fees. Cooked lunches are also an optional extra for pupils in years 3 & 4.
